Stacie Kreiser – DVM
Dr. Stacie grew up in Grand Rapids, MI, and started working as a veterinary assistant while still in high school and college. She earned her BS in Biomedical Science from Grand Valley State University, then went on to study Veterinary Sciences at Michigan State University. She received her DVM from MSU in 2018. She began her career in shelter medicine and later moved into private practice surgical services. Dr. Stacie is especially interested in sighthound medicine, orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, anesthesia, and pain management. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her six dogs—Kyle, Nellie, Scotty, and Mickey (all greyhounds), and Chiari and Wynnie (both whippets)—training in agility or watching them run in FastCat. She also sometimes works in human medicine as a Certified Surgical Technologist at a surgical center in Grand Rapids.
Missy Root – Veterinary Technician
Missy graduated from the Baker College Veterinary Technology program in 2012 and has worked in small animal practice ever since. She found her passion for animals early on, volunteering at a cat rescue and gaining experience at small animal clinics while in high school. Missy’s main interests in veterinary medicine include dentistry, anesthesiology, surgical assisting, and phlebotomy. At home, she lives with Bowie, her sweet corgi, and Echo, her feisty cat. In her free time, Missy enjoys camping, backpacking, hiking, going to concerts, and cosplay.
Mendee – Veterinary Technician
Mendee has worked in veterinary medicine since 2007 and became a licensed veterinary technician and nurse in 2013. She enjoys dental care, teaching clients, and speaking up for all animals. In her free time, Mendee likes to camp, hike, kayak, read, crochet, and play guitar or piano. She shares her home with three dogs and three cats. Mendee looks forward to meeting you and caring for your pets.
Possum – Founding Member
Possum is one of the founding members of Mercy Veterinary Coalition, providing a much-needed cross-eyed perspective on every situation. His pioneering and curious spirit is evident in all his client interactions, where he fully lives up to his four-paw reviews!
Marty – Feline Director
Marty graduated from the College of Hard Knocks before joining Mercy Veterinary Coalition. His role as Feline Director is to ensure all towels are properly kneaded and all food is inspected.
Rob Murphy – Director of Client Services and Business Development
Rob has built a career around turning ideas into action and helping others discover new potential. He has led and collaborated with diverse teams worldwide, always seeking environments that embrace change and empathy. Rob is a 20-year veteran of the corporate grind, and one day, while seeking new avenues for success, he fell in love with Mercy Veterinary Coalition’s mission. Rob is excited to further the shared goals of the rescue and sheltered animal community by strengthening relationships with our partners and caregivers at MVC and across Michigan.
